This is a nice park with a lake and open grassy areas near the Cubs spring training facility. There may be some open space birds like meadowlarks or sparrows around at this season. Incredibly, the lake hosted a Wedge-rumped Storm Petrel in 2016. If we find anything half that rare, we will be doing great. Then we will head a short distance north to the paved path along the Salt River and check out the Mesa Recharge Basins.
