Gilbert Water Ranch also know as the Gilbert Riparian Preserve is an urban park in Gilbert, Arizona includes 4.5 miles of trails and 7 ponds that are organized into different vegetative zones that include marshland and riparian areas. One of the ponds at the park even has a distribution stream that mimics a desert stream. It was created in 1999 by the city, in an effort to use 100% if it's effluent water. 298 species of birds have been identified here at the preserve along with many incsects, fish, reptiles, and mammals who also call this home. An additional lake in front near the libraray, is filled with reclaimed water, and is designated as an urban fishing pond organized by Arizona Game and Fish.
